Beicip-Franlab is seeking a Geophysicist/Seismic interpreter to join the Geoscience Interpretation team to support the development of its consulting activities.
Geophysical and in particular seismic data interpretation is a key initial process in today's Oil and Gas and Energy Transition(CCUS, geothermal energy) industries to perform prospect evaluation, geological modelling and reservoir characterization.
Leading or working directly with multi-disciplinary teams, you will carry out all tasks related to structural and stratigraphic interpretation from seismic, gravity, magnetic, seismic characterization and geological data. Candidate must be proficient with standard software packages for seismic interpretation (Decision Space™ and Petrel™ for the most commons).
Knowledge of sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, seismic characterization, 3D modeling, and petroleum system analyses and other associated subjects would be a plus.
You will be based at Beicip-Franlab headquarters in France (Paris area) with opportunities to travel abroad.

Acting as Consultant, you will directly report to the Geoscience Interpretation Team Leader. The successful candidate will be expected to:

Perform key seismic interpretation tasks: seismic-to-well calibration, horizons and faults interpretation, 2D & 3D velocity model, depth conversion and mapping.

Work actively in an integrated project team.

Participate to the presentation and discussion with the Client from data collection to the results delivery.

The applicant should meet the following requirements to be eligible for the position:

An MSc or PhD in Geophysics or Earth Science essential.

5 to 10 years of experience in seismic interpretation, in Oil & Gas and/or Energy Transition industries (mandatory).

Proficiency with standard software packages for seismic interpretation

Additional proficiency in seismic characterization, sedimentology & stratigraphy or 3D geological modeling (a plus),

A strong interpersonal and communication skill, written and oral, is essential.

A commitment for mobility as the job implies overseas missions.

A confident and assertive personality with the ability to provide effective technical support and soon articulate strong technical arguments to answer clients’ expectances.

Previous overseas experience, advantageous.

Fluent English mandatory. Spanish/ French advantageous.
