Beicip-Franlab is a leading consulting company in the Energy domain and a geoscience software editor renowned for its technical excellence.
Beicip-Franlab is seeking a geoscientist to join the Basin Evaluation & Modeling team as a specialist in geoscience software. You will be involved in the development of basin systems modeling software, DionisosFlow, TemisFlow, KronosFlow & CougarFlow packages. Those
software are leading-edge solutions for process-driven basin modeling, stratigraphic modeling and risk/uncertainties management which keep evolving to tackle today’s E&P challenges in new energies.
As a modeler and software specialist, you will primarily participate in the planning, steering & testing activities of the development program, reporting to the product owners. You will engage with software developers, clients and in-house geologists & modelers to make sure the solutions remain up to par with the industry needs & standards.
A key expectation of the job is proactivity in fostering the implementation of capabilities tailored for new energy technologies such as CCUS (Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage), geothermal modeling, natural H2 modeling and more.
You may also take part in technical sales activities (primarily technical evaluations) as well as in post-sales services such as mentoring, capacitation and user-support. Involvement in consultancy projects may be considered if needed.
Beicip-Franlab has implemented the Agile software development approach, consequently you are expected to be familiar (or willing to become to) with the methodology.
You will use Beicip-Franlab petroleum system modeling software package on a daily basis, as such being familiar with it (or with similar technology) will be an advantage when applying for this position.

The applicant is expected to:

Partake in the development cycles of in-house petroleum system modeling and new energies packages,

Carry-out software-related pre-sales and post-sales activities such as user-support, training & mentoring, technical evaluations and presentations if needed,

Engage with clients, developers, designers and the inhouse modeling community to make sure developments are in line with the expectations of the industry,
-
Mentor junior geologists aiming at getting proficient in general.

The applicant should meet the following requirements to be eligible for the position:

MSc or PhD in Geology or Earth Science related degree (mandatory),

Previous experience in developing geoscience software (advantage),

Knowledgeable in DionisosFlow, TemisFlow or any similar package for numerical petroleum system modeling (advantage),

Working knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems,
-
Additional proficiency in seismic interpretation, sedimentology & stratigraphy, petrophysics or 3D geological modeling (a plus),

Previous experience in publishing and presenting technical papers (a plus),

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral,
-
A confident and assertive personality with the ability to provide effective technical leadership and articulate strong technical arguments,

Commitment for mobility as the job may include short-term and long-term missions overseas,
