Job Overview
Beicip-Franlab is a leading consulting company in the Energy domain and a geoscience software editor renowned for its technical excellence.
We are looking for a geoscientist to join the Basin Evaluation & Modeling team as a junior basin analyst. As a junior consultant, you will be expected to work directly in integrated project teams composed of experienced geophysicists, geologists and reservoir engineers. You will be involved in exploration studies and will apply the IFP Group software for stratigraphic and basin modeling (DionisosFlow, TemisFlow and KronosFlow).
Benefiting from Beicip-Franlab’s international presence and technical versatility, you will be brought to work on basins all across the world with varied contexts and challenges: petroleum system assessment in frontier basins, play and prospect assessment in mature basins, near field exploration, geothermal potential, carbon storage potential, natural hydrogen and helium potential…
The successful candidate must have general knowledge of geosciences, basics in sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, structural geology, geochemistry, petroleum system analyses, and a taste for digital modelling. Knowledge in other associated subjects would be a plus.
You will be based in our main office near Paris in France with opportunities to travel abroad.

Responsabilities
Acting as Junior Consultant, you will directly report to the Team Leader for management aspects and Project leaders for operational activities. You will be expected to:
- Perform basin and stratigraphic modeling by integrating subsurface geological, geophysical and reservoir data in various settings,
- Work actively in an integrated project team (with geophysicists, geologists and reservoir engineers),
- Participate to the presentation and discussion with the client from data collection to the results delivery,
- Apply innovative methods and solutions to optimize basin evaluation and exploration development.
Preferences
Beicip-Franlab is looking for highly motivated individuals with the following qualifications:
- An MSc/PhD degree in Geology,
- First Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is a plus,
- A commitment for mobility as the job may include short-term and long-term missions overseas,
- Technical rigor, capacity for synthesis, quality of argumentation and presentation,
- Proficiency with standard software packages for geological interpretation and modeling,
- Fluent English mandatory, other language advantageous,
- Legal right to work in France without company sponsorship.
